Mason’s Café in Cape Tribulation offers lunches using local products, including tea, coffee, fruit and fish, specialising in exotic meats, with Kangaroo, Crocodile, Emu, Camel, Buffalo and Wild Boar all available. There is a selection of tasting plates on offer, that feature various combinations of exotic meats with Choko and either Breadfruit or Taro Chips. Jakfruit burgers are available seasonally.
Sourcing as much as they can locally, Masons Café uses Misty Mountains milk, Mungalli Yoghurt, Daintree Tea, Tichum Creek Coffee, and fish caught off the Daintree Coast. Breadfruit is farmed on their property, and Taro sourced in Mossman. Prime Atherton Tableland Kirra Koppa beef from is used for burgers and steak sandwiches.
Pride is taken on making as much food as they can onsite; and a good range of gluten free alternatives are available.
Near the Café is an amazing freshwater swimming hole. Entry is by $1 fee, and here you can cool off in a croc free and stinger free waterhole full of native fish.
