Mamu Tropical Skywalk

Wooroonoon National Park, just 90 minutes south of Cairns and 15 minutes west of Innisfail, is the home of the Ma:Mu Aboriginal people.  Hear their stories and learn about the traditional uses of many of the trees, plants and animals.

Elevated walkways, a cantilever, and observation tower offer visitors the exhilarating experience of being high in the pristine rainforest canopy, along with providing spectacular panoramic views of World Heritage rainforest landscapes from the 37m high observation tower.

The wheelchair/disabled friendly facility includes more than 1100 metres of walking tracks through rainforest, allowing visitors to explore the rainforest from the forest floor to the canopy, in comfort and safety.

The Skywalk passes through one of the largest-remaining continuous stands of complex vine forest on basalt soils in the Wet Tropics.

Enjoy close-up views of rainforest plants, insects and birds, and take in sweeping vistas. Information signs tell of the rainforest’s complex web of life and the rich culture and history of the area.
